Gilman is an artist who uses text, in English and Spanish, as a vehicle for consolidating thought. Her work deals with themes of communication and control in everyday life. She will present a site-specific installation: a series of a dozen interactive scrolls along with prints and drawings that are based on the journal she kept during her experience with her mother’s Alzheimer disease.
