McNally Jackson is honored to welcome National Book Award winner Richard Powers for a reading and discussion of his latest novel Orfeo. A composer with a life-long interest in music's patterns finds himself under investigation by Homeland Security. Enlisting loved ones from his past, "the Bio-terrorist Bach" (as the Internet dubs him) hatches a plan to make music out of persecution—and to make himself truly heard.
Richard Powers is the author of eleven novels. He has been awarded a MacArthur Fellowship, the Lannan Literary Award, two Pushcart Prizes, and, for The Echo Maker, the National Book Award.
