Miguel Amado is the curator of the Portuguese Pavilion at the 2013 Venice Biennale. He has been a curator for institutions such as Tate St Ives, the PLMJ Foundation in Lisbon, and the Centro de Artes Visuais in Coimbra, Portugal. He has also been a critic for magazines such as Artforum. Other curatorial positions include New York-based organizations such as Rhizome at the New Museum, the Abrons Arts Center, and the International Studio & Curatorial Program. He has been a guest curator at institutions such as the Museu Colecção Berardo in Lisbon and apexart in New York, and events such as Frieze Projects at Frieze Art Fair in London. He is an auditor at the PhD Curatorial/Knowledge at Goldsmiths, University of London, and a graduate of the MA Curating Contemporary Art at the Royal College of Art, London. He is a board member of IKT.
