Dr. Soraya M. Castro Marino is full Professor and Senior Researcher at the Research Center for the Study of International Politics, Institute of International Relations, Havana, Cuba. She earned her doctorate in law at Havana University in 1992 and has done postdoctoral studies at Universita di Bologna (UNIBO) in Italy. Dr. Castro is the co-editor with Ronald W. Pruessen and coauthor of the books Fifty Years of Revolution Perspectives on Cuba, the United States, and the World; Estados Unidos y America Latina; Los Nuevos Desafios Union o Desunion?; Coauthor of the Report Retreat from Reason U.S.-Cuban Academic Relations and the Bush Administration. She has published chapters in the following books A Contemporary Cuba Reader Reinventing the Revolution; Redefining Cuban Foreign Policy; Foreign Policy Toward Cuba Isolation or Engagement?; Del TLC al Mercosur Integracion y Diversidades en America Latina. In addition, Dr. Castro has published numerous articles in journals relating to her interest in U.S. Cuban relations, U.S foreign Policy and U.S. foreign policymaking process. Dr. Castro has been a visiting scholar at Harvard University, Georgetown University, SAIS-John Hopkins University, Indiana State University, University of St Thomas (Minnesota), California Polytechnic University, Pomona, California State University, Los Angeles, California State University, San Bernardino and University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
